Rossnowlagh Road, Ballyshannon, Donegal
Abbey Assaroe was founded by Cistercian Monks from Boyle Abbey in the late 12th century. In 1989 the Abbey Mill Restoration Trust acquired the derelict Mills, restoring the mill buildings and water wheels for use as an Auditorium and Coffee Shop. At the Auditorium a video film on the Heritage of the Monastery and Mill can be viewed on request....

Newmills Corn And Flax Mills
Newmills, Letterkenny, Donegal
The oldest surviving building here is said to be 400 years old. Indeed, the whole complex is an interesting reminder of a stage in the industrial development of this country which has now given way to a more sophisticated, but usually far less fascinating technology. The visitor to Newmills can experience the pleasure of seeing one of the largest waterwheels in Ireland in action as it drives the machinery of the corn mills.
