Lough Derg is a large, shallow lough of over 2,000 acres, 4 miles north of Pettigo. This lough lies less than one mile due east of Milford and is approached off a by road that links the L78 Milford-Carrowkeel road with the T72 Milford-Rathmelton road. These Loughs are on the Fanad Peninsula near Fanad Head. Shannagh used to hold a small stock of good brown trout that were mainly taken on worms, but now holds mainly escapee rainbows. The trout in Kinny Lough are small, averaging about a half lb, and it can be fished all round. Kindrum holds some nice trout that are mainly taken spinning.
