Knock, Mayo
Knock Folk museum, officially opened and blessed in May of 1987 and is located on the grounds of then Knock Shrine. Knock has rapidly established itself as one of the major tourist attractions in Ireland. The museum's theme 'A look into the past' portrays life in 19th century rural Ireland and the museum itself is divided into fifteen sections each devoted to a particular subject. It attempts to delve deeper into the past so that visitors will gain a sense of historic place.

Donegal County Museum is based in a fine old stone building which was once part of the Letterkenny Workhouse built in 1846.


The Museum houses both temporary and permanent exhibitions which chart the history of Donegal from Stone Age to the Twentieth Century.

The Mall East, Armagh, Armagh
Located on the Mall, Armagh County Museum is the oldest County Museum in Ireland. Exhibitions reveal the rich and varied history of the county, ranging from prehistoric artifacts to more recent material. These include military uniforms, wedding dressses, ceramics, natural history specimens, railway material and household items from a bygone age. The Carroll Centre, Jocelyn Street, Dundalk, Louth
The County Museum in Dundalk is housed in a beautifully restored late 18th century warehouse and offers four floors of excellent exhibition space. The ground floor display is on the history of industry in County Louth. Group activities for children such as painting, clay modelling, quizzes, etc are provided for in the specially fitted activities room. All floors have disabled access.
